Have you heard of a social business and wondered what it’s about? Are you a social entrepreneur facing challenges in your business? Or a corporate professional who wants to encourage the next generation of entrepreneurs?

If you answered yes to one of these questions, Yunus & Youth exists to support you. Combining social entrepreneurship training with technology, we remove educational barriers across countries and generations. Our purpose is to support young people who are leading the change in their countries through social enterprises!

Since 2014, Y&Y has trained people from over 50 countries, building a mission-driven community with amplified resources that drive social change.

Our work is inspired by Professor Muhammad Yunus, 2006 Nobel Peace Price Laureate, who is internationally recognized for his work in poverty alleviation and the empowerment of the poor. In his words, developing a social business starts with “the idealism and hope that are deeply ingrained in all human beings”.

A social business, in his definition, is a “non-loss, non-dividend company created to address a social purpose”. For us, therefore, combining market structures with the intention to create change is one of the key ways to build a more sustainable future.

At the Y&Y Blog, you will find stories of young people who are doing just that. And trust me, you will be impressed. The challenges they’ve faced to build and implement their businesses are breath-taking. They are moved by passion and they have so much to share with us!

Here, you will also hear from mentors who have supported those young leaders through our program. They will share their motivations and learnings from doing so, and I’m sure you’ll feel inspired to also invest in the next generation of innovators.

Lastly, you will find relevant content on social businesses and social impact. In our mission to support all young entrepreneurs out there, we will provide resources to help you advance in your idea.

To get started, check out the new Y&Y Social Business Toolkit, and stay tuned for our next posts!
